Écumes (2006) for manpulated recordings
Écumes
is a theater piece involving
dance, marionettes, and installations, headed by Paulo
Duarte (CIE Pseudonymo). The project was made at
residencies in Rui Horta's "o espaço do tempo" in
Montemor-o-novo, Portugal; and in La Comedie in Reims,
France. The final funding for the project came from Spain's
government, for the premiere in Barcelona.
Musically, much of the material comes from recordings I
made of walking on gravel, rain, and themes taken
from The Fetishes, as well as manipulated commercial
recordings. Below are a few numbers from the show, as
well as some pieces that didn't make it in.
