Sing, My Tongue (2008)
for eight voices, a cappella
Sing, My
Tongue is a live
concert performance piece inspired by the
Fabre-Garrus Josquin
Study. Like
that piece, Sing takes a duet from the Angus Dei of
Josquin's last mass, Missa Pange
Lingua, and
forms a four-part canon where each "voice" is an overlay
of the duet. The canon is repeated over and over with
different combinations of the four duets singing. Each
repetition is sung with a dynamic arch,
pppp - ff -
pppp.
